To help patients anticipate needs and practice skills, Drake Center has therapy areas that simulate a home environment. These transitional living suites, can help patients learn new approaches to practical living skills and reinforce techniques learned during therapy sessions. They are located in A East, 1 East, 2 East and Outpatient Therapy.
Located on 3 North and 3 South, we also have a Transitional Living Program Suite (TLP). This home-like apartment provides patients and families the chance to practice self-care and caregiving skills. When appropriate, a patient may be able to stay in a TLP Suite on the nursing unit for the last few days before discharge to help improve confidence and comfort with handling medical and other care needs.
